The late Alfred "Pop" Patterson Jr. was born on April 16, 1952 in New Orleans, La to the late Alfred &Odeal Patterson Sr. Alfred was baptized at an early age & loved the Lord. He fought the battle of sickle cell disease for many years, Alfred passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center surrounded by his wife & children.

Alfred was a native of Convent, La and a resident of Prairieville, La. In his adult years, he met his soulmate, his wife of 43 years, whom is the mother of his 7 children & 6 grandchildren.

Alfred Jr. was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend & will always be remembered by his smile, stories & jokes he would tell.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Doris, (4) daughters: Monica (Clayton) Young, Baton Rouge; Andricka (Lionel) Patterson, Sorrento; Michelle Patterson, Baton Rouge; Kayla Patterson, Prairieville. (1) Granddaughter: Jazmen Hardy-Young; (5) Grandsons: Andrew Patterson; Cameron & Clayton Young Jr.; Alfred & Isa Holland. (2) Brothers: Charles & Lynn Patterson of Prairieville; (1) Sister: Linda (Albert) George of Chauvin; (2) Sister-in-Laws: Barbara James & Linda (Carl) McKay; (2) Brother-in-Laws: Robert & Roosevelt; Close Friend of family Isa Holland & host of other relatives & friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Alfred &Odeal Patterson Sr.; his children: Rickey, Vickey& Frederick Wayne Patterson; Grandparents: Hillary Patterson Sr& Angelina Goday; Robert &Odeal Gray; (2) Brothers: Ricky & Michael Patterson; (2) Sisters: Pearl Patterson & Catherine Jackson; (3) Brother-in-Laws: Andrew Patterson Jr., Joseph Patterson & Ruben Stephens Sr.; (3) Sister-in-Laws: Mary Anderson Carey, Thelma Patterson & Evelyn Hamilton; Father & Mother-in-Law: Andrew & Wilma Patterson; Nieces, Uncles, Aunts & Cousins.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
