Anita Louise Pitcher, affectionately known as "Nee Nee", passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at her home. She was 49 years old. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 and funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.at New Gideon Baptist Church, 2542 Balis Dr, Baton Rouge, La. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. Rev. Thomas N. Bessix, Pastor/Teacher; Rev. Reginald L. Pitcher,Sr., officiating pastor. Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery and Mausoleum. Anita was educated in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, graduating from Tara High School and she attended Southern University. She was employed by the State of Louisiana for more than 24 years and was a dedicated employee of the Office of Motor Vehicles as a Motor Vehicle Compliance Analyst 2. She is survived by her son, Jared Michael Pitcher; daughters, Jessica Lynn Pitcher and Erica Pitcher Raby (Joshua) all of Baton Rouge; cherished grand children Braylen Emmanuel Williams, Jamia Lenise Raby and was expecting a new grandchild; two sisters, Denise Pitcher Samuel (Joseph) of Acworth, Ga. and Cheryl Lynn Pitcher of Baton Rouge; an aunt, Joyce M. Johnson of Baton Rouge; great aunts, Helen A. Johnson (Union City, Ga.) and Dorothy Lewis (Marrero, La); nieces and nephews, Michael, Travis, Tyran, Melissa, Kimberley, Daryl, Jason, Joseph, and Rita; numerous great nieces and nephews and other family friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Louvenia Pitcher, brothers Michael and Daryl Pitcher; uncles Handy, Thomas and Arthur Johnson; beloved cousin, Donald Johnson and grandparents.
