Bertha Ella Hardy Prestly was born on March 24, 1953 to the union of the late Mannie Hardy Jr. And the late Margaret Farmer Hardy. She entered eternal rest and gained her heavenly wings on May 19, 2015.
Bertha was a 1971 graduate of McKinley Senior High School. She aacepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a member of Second Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church where she served diligently until her departure. She served as the choir president for several years and was also instrumental in starting the vacation bible school program and Hallelujah night in the church. Being a servant was her ministry. She was always available with a prayer, encouraging word or a listening ear. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with a smile and open arms. Bertha lived her life according to God's word and always stood for the right thing. If she was able to help you in any way l, she would with no expectation of anything in retun. She truly exuded the qualities of a God fearing Proverbs 31 woman.
Bertha is survived by the father of her children, Paul Prestly, Sorrento, LA, three children; Kedrick Hardy (Leila) of Leesville, LA, Korey Hardy, Shreveport, LA, Paula Jackson (Jamie), Prairieville, LA. Eight grandchildren, Jazmen, Kaija, Jakolbe, Kedrick II, Jauda, Jordyn, Lola, Kimora, and one unborn great granddaughter. Six siblings; Linda Grant (Jeffery) Suffolk, Virginia, Mannie Hardy Jr. (Crystal), Sherry Gauthier (Anthony), Rhonda Hardnett, Yancey McGuffery (Angela), and Barbara Thomas all of Baton Rouge, La.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Mannie Hardy Sr., Alice Farmer Hardy, maternal and paternal grandparents and one son Charlton D. Hardy.
She leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, god children, friends and Co workers.
