Obituary

Carrie Hardy Haney was born Carrie Hardy on December 23, 1948, to the late Ida Mae Taylor Hardy and David Hardy Sr. She transitioned from this life and entered rest on August 6, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Carrie was baptized in 1961 at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church under Pastor John Smith. Throughout her life Carrie continued to serve the Lord at Ebenezer Baptist Church under Pastor Eddie Sulcer, Pastors Stacey and Cathy Toliver, Bethany under Larry Stockstill and Oasis Christian Church under Bishop Charles Wallace where she was affirmed in the office of Deaconess. Carrie went on to serve in the Office as Deaconess at Kingdom Come Ministries under the Leadership of Pastor Carl Daniels and Dr. Katherine Daniels, her son (in law) and daughter until she transitioned. Carrie was faithful to Christ and to the Ministry of Jesus. Carrie was a true disciple, wherever she went she shared the Good News.

Carrie's personality was that of a warrior strong willed, in faith and her beliefs. She was a retired retail clerk which she worked as for over 40 years. Carrie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Carrie and her sisters would spend hours shopping, more like sunup to sundown. She was a   foodie, who enjoyed a good T-Bone steak or Snow Crabs. Carrie enjoyed collecting recipes as well as creating her own signature dishes like the family favorites: potato salad, meatballs, and banana pudding. She enjoyed watching Westerns, Sanford & Son, and the Bold & Beautiful. Carrie made sure the family would come together during the holidays. She enjoyed traveling in the States as well as Internationally. Carrie experienced a lifetime trip to the Holy Land with her two eldest nieces visiting Tel Aviv Israel, Jerusalem and the Wailing Wall. She worshiped God and lived a life poured out.

Carrie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Dr. Katherine Haney Daniels (Carl), one son Steven Santell Hardy (Nadena) all of Baton Rouge, LA; eight grandchildren: Carl, Cardale, Carnellius, Carly, Car'lia and Camille Daniels of Baton Rouge, LA; Steven Jr. of  Dutchtown, LA and Sacoya Hardy  of  Baton Rouge, LA; four great grandchildren: Karliana, Carl Daniels III, Kloe and Cardale Jr Daniels all of Baton Rouge; two brothers David Hardy Jr. (Everlea) of Wilson, LA, Howard Hardy of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-in-law Deola Hardy of Baton Rouge, LA , one aunt Ida Mae Hardy and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by grandfather Emmett Hardy Sr, grandmother Carrie Kelly Hardy, mother Ida Mae Taylor, father David Hardy Sr., daughter Denise Haney, brothers Samuel Hardy and John Hawkins Sr., sisters Doris Hardy, Helen Comena, Ethel Hardy Paul and Elenora Hardy.
