Obituary

On November 15, 2023 at 4:30 AM, the Lord called "Bread" by his name and said servant come home. You have fought a good fight, you have finished your course and you have kept the faith. II Timothy 2:14

Cornelius Donald Morris was born January 7th 1935, to the late Cornelius Boyd Morris and Pauline Vallery Morris.  He was affectionately known as "Bread" by family and friends.

Bread was educated Lowery schools in Donaldsonville, La.  He was employed with the Livingston Parish School board for 22 years driving the infamous bus 55!  Bread also

Owned and operated Bread's junkyard for over 60 years up until his death It was place you'd find him from sun up to sun down, staying dedicated to provide for his loved ones. His "junk" was not only a staple in the community but a rich legacy. Anything you needed, rest assured Bread had it.

Bread leaves to cherish his memories:

Three sons, Donnie Morris (Linda), Sorrento, LA; Monte Morris (Felecia) -Dallas, TX, Sean Morris (Brenda) Gonzales, LA; daughter Chauncy Higgins (Emanuel) – Irvine, CA; nine grandchildren, Nadjala Morris Houston, TX , Eric Morris Convent, LA,  Kevonte Morris – Dallas, TX, Raven Morris – Dallas, TX, Kobe Morris  Baton Rouge,, LA,  Kyndal Morris – Baton Rouge, LA, Daniel, Asher, and Caleb Higgins – Irvine, CA; four great grandchildren, Jayla and Carmello Morris -Houston, TX; Kior Morris, Dallas, TX, Soray Morris, Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters in law -Tina Jordan and Betty Ealy; one brother-in-law, Sherman Ealy; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends;  a very special niece, Yolanda Brown.

Cornelius was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Leotha Ashton Morris, parents, Cornelius and Pauline Vallery Morris, sisters, Nellie Morris, Mary Dee Morris - Shannon, Mabel Vallery, Barbara Ann Morris; Brother. Charles Logan Sr.; Two nephews, Lester Hammond Sr. and Ronnie Vallery.
