DEBBIE R. OWENS was born October 12, 1961, to Percy Lawless Jr. and Annie Bell Riney in Paincourtville, La. She departed this life on November 6, 2023, in Gonzales, La.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a graduate of Donaldsonville High School. She worked in the food and service industry for many years. She also cared for the elderly with love and compassion. Debbie was loved by many and never met a stranger.

Debbie leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Lawaun Riney (Dwan); her parents, Annie Bell Julien and Percy Lawless Jr.; one sister, Libby Perkins (Carl); one nephew, Brandon Perkins (Letecia); one niece, Karly Perkins; one aunt, Ellen Allen; a godmother, Odell Carter; seven grandchildren, Jalen, Alyncia, I'an, Raekwon, Amira, Amani, and Ashlynn; one great-grandson Jalen Jr. two godchildren; Deanna Stewart, Crystal Joshua; and a host of relatives and devoted friends.

Debbie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Aristile Riney Sr. and Alma Riney; paternal grandparents; Percy Lawless Sr. and Juanita Lawless; two aunts, Mildred Riney and Linda Marie Stewart; two uncles, Aristle Riney Jr. and Joseph Riney Sr. and other friends and relatives.

To know Debbie was love her. She had a joyous spirit. She never ran across a person that she didn't consider a friend. Until we meet again may you rest in perfect peace.
