Demetra "Snookie" Harris, a 59-year-old native of Gonzales was born in New Orleans, LA in 1963. In the early 80's, she moved to Gonzales, Louisiana. She graduated from East Ascension High School with the Senior class of 1982. She married Roosevelt Smith and together they raised her four children: Evelyn Harris, Eric Harris Sr., Roderick Harris, and Roqhel Harris-Johnson (Jeremy). Three grandchildren; Halo Harris, Eric Harris Jr., and Conner Cornish.

Demetra is predeceased by her mother(s) Hazel Harris & Verna Jean Harris, her father Samuel Million, her brother(s), Larry & Christopher Harris, her sister, Linda Million, both paternal and maternal grandparents, son in law; Travis Dowlen, and her close friend Shonda Jackson. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters, Bonnie Million, Hazel Abram (Bill), Tracy Million, Lisa Million, and Rethia Johnson (Arthur) her brothers, Bobby, Charlie, & Samuel Million IIII. Demetra was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. For many years, Demetra worked in customer service at Design's Fashion and Chip's Grocery.
