A resident of Baton Rouge, he transitioned peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2012, at the Carpenter House. He was 75 and a native of Geismar. Visitation on Saturday, March 31, from 9 a.m. until service at noon in St. Gabriel at New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church, Bishop Eugene Harris, Pastor. Interment in First Mt. Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Campus 2, Geismar. Survived by his eight children, Cynthia Thompson, Geismar, Dennis Valentine Jr. (Linda), Port Allen, Charles Valentine (Juanita), Orlando, Fla., Karen Johnson (Robert), Plaquemine, and Willie Valentine (Charmaine), Baton Rouge, twins, Versey and Freeman Adams, Baton Rouge, and Carol Valentine, Bayou Goula; two sisters, Marion Carter and Inez Tate, Baton Rouge; brother, Roosevelt Valentine, Baton Rouge; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
