Derrick Lee "Corn Dog" Thornton, a native of Baton Rouge, La and a resident of Prairieville, La, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, La at the age of 42. Services will be held on Saturday June 7, 2014 at Life Cathedral Worship Center(2103 S.Philippe Ave, Gonzales La, 70737). A visitation will be held beginning at 9:00am until funeral service at 11:00am (Apostle Lloyd Benson Sr. presiding). Derrick leaves to cherish his legacy, his loving wife Crystal J. Thornton, his father Hayes Thornton (Keisha), 3 daughters, Angela Thornton, Jewel Jackson, and Diamond Thornton, 1 son Aaron Collins; 6 sisters, 3 brothers, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Murdies K. Stewart Thornton, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
