Donald Lee Carter was born on March 5, 1956 to the late Arthur Sr. and Carrie Carter in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was called to eternal rest on February 24, 2023 at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Donald confessed at an early age that he believed The Lord was his Savoir and served faithfully at St. Mark Catholic Church and later joined as a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church now known as First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in 2000. Donald was united in marriage to Cheryl Cushenberry Carter July 23, 1995.
Donald was affectionately called "Duck" by some and "DC" by others. He loved God, loved people, and was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He never met a stranger. Donald was a proud graduate of East Ascension High School Class of 1974. He was a man of all trades. Donald owned Carter's Towing with his brothers, was employed with H.C. Pipeline, worked as a truck driver for Robert's Distributors, and retired after 28 years from Ascension Parish School Board as a Bus Driver.
Donald leaves to cherish his wonderful memories to his loving devoted wife of 28 years Cheryl Carter, and his Daughter Deanza Carter Lane (Lakeith), Son Cedric Raven (Marie), Brother Edward Carter (Mary), Sister Antis Marie Landry, one Sister-in-Law Gloria Pinell (Saveria), one Brother-In-Law Melvin Cushenbery Jr (Andrea), Grandchildren: Kierel, Keilyn, Lakenya, Khloe, Jase, Great-Grandchildren: Zy'ire, Zewaun, Heiress, Kaiden, Kyrie, Godchildren: Kendra, Jamila, Danielle, Ryan, and Caitlyn, two special cousins that he cherished as brothers Arthur "Skipper" Jenkins and Leroy Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Donald is proceeded in death by his parents Arthur Sr. and Carrie Carter, Son Donavan Carter, two Brothers Arthur Carter Jr. and Ronald Wayne Carter, one sister Mary Elouise, one nephew Randy Carter, two brother-in-laws Eugene and Burnell, five uncles, three aunts, a close friend Donovan Joseph, and a host of other relatives and friends.
