E arl Martin was born February 22, 1933 to the late Leander Martin, Sr. and Olevia Bailey Martin in Head of Island, LA. He retired as a laborer to the Southeast LA War Veterans Home in Reserve, LA until he transitioned on November 29, 2019 at 7:13pm at the Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by family.

E arl confessed his faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age by the late Reverend John Peterson at the Second Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church in Head of Island. He was a gentle kind soul who enjoyed a fun loving life. His favorite pastime was lovingly joking and playing with his nieces and nephews. A lover of family, he was especially fond and protective of his "baby brothers and sisters." Moreover, he was very proud of his services is the United States Armed Forces in the branch of the Army.

H e leaves to cherish his memory, his brothers, sisters, and one sister in law; Leander Martin, Jr and wife Betty, Bobby Martin and wife Elaine, Elouise Hamilton, Beverly A. Stewart and husband Charley, Carolyn Marshal, Dorothy Martin, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Leander Martin Sr and Olevia Bailey Martin, brother Eamel Martin, and sisters Shirley Kemp and Diane Martin.
