Ed Queen Sr., 83, a native of Fayette, Mississippi, and a resident of Geismar, La., passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at OLOL Hospital. He was born April 4, 1934.

Ed was a retired employee of Illinois Central Railroad, where he worked as a laborer for forty-six years and ICI Janitorial Service, where he worked as a supervisor for thirty-five years.

He is survived by his wife, of 62 years, Louise Marie Barber, five children; Ed Jr. (Dr. Theresa) Queen, Gonzales, La., Betty (Donald) Clark, Darrow, La., Michael Queen, Geismar, La, Sandra (Pastor Dr. Richard) Rayborn II, Gonzales, La, and Van (Miranda) Queen, Brewton Alabama; 16 grandchildren, two of which he helped rear at an early age, Demetria (Ramon) Roberts Sr., Prairieville, La., and LaTandra Dempsey, Baton Rouge, La.; 36 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Elder Alson (Florida) Glass Jr., Monroe, Louisiana and Willie Queen, Sherman, Texas; a devoted cousin, Peter (Dorothy) Queen III, Fayette, Mississippi; two godchildren, Anthony Barber and Anthony Miller, Geismar, La.; four sisters-in-law, Linda Barber, Geismar, La., Betty Barber and Ruby Barber, Baton Rouge, La., Yvonne (Author) Coco Sr., Gonzales, La.; one brother-in-law, Clarence Barber, Baton Rouge, La.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
