Elnora Brooks Jones was born on July 14, 1959 to the late Mr. Peter Brooks, Sr. of Maurepas, Louisiana and Ms. Delphine H. Scott of Prairieville, Louisiana. Elnora departed this life to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior on Friday June 26, 2020 surrounded by her children.

Elnora's love and legacy will be cherished by her children, her son Adell Brooks and daughter Kader Brooks of Prairieville, Louisiana, 2 stepsons Lester Jones Jr. & Ivan Jones of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. 5 grandchildren; Marquise Lane, Adajia Carter, Adell Carter, Makayla Brooks, and Malik Thomas of Prairieville, Louisiana, 1 great-grandchild Kaiser Carter, 3 sisters; Thelma Brooks, Rose Hagan, and Julie Jones Hagan of Seattle, Washington, 1 brother Peter Brooks Jr. of Seattle, Washington, 2 god-children; Erica Jones and David Jones Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 2 devoted friends; Latonga Emerson and Renee Collins Patterson, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elnora was preceded in death by her father, Peter Brooks Sr., mother Delphine Scott, her husband Lester Jones Sr., her youngest son Lester Jones Brooks Jr., 2 brothers; Joseph Brooks and Willie Brooks, and one nephew Andre Terrell Scott.
