Emory Thompson was born July 5, 1943, to Dave Thompson, Sr., and Mary Thompson.  He was sent to his eternal home on January 26, 2025, at his residence in Gonzales, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.

Emory is survived three loving daughters: Sonya B. Thompson, Mary Elizabeth (David) West and Carol Ceasar, (3) Grandchildren, and (1) Great Grandchildren.

Three sisters, Annie Rollins (Spring Hill, Florida), Cora Marcel and Clara Joseph both of Gonzales, Louisiana. One brother, Andrew (JoAnn) Thompson Gonzales, Louisiana. Three brothers-in-law: Isaac Parms, Clarence (Carmen) Parms, Andrew Daigre, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Four godchildren: Chief Sherman Jackson, Christopher Thompson, Tancy Reed and Darrell Moses, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Emory is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Thompson, Sr and Mary Thompson; his wife Eva Parms Thompson. Four siblings: Laura Coco, Lillian Henry, Dave Thompson, Jr., James (JC) Thompson; grandparents: Eliza Landry, Mike and Stella Thompson. Mother-in-law, Elizabeth Parms and father-in-law, Isaac Parms, Sr., and host other loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5-7pm at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, 511 West Toby Ave. Gonzales, La. Saturday, February 1, 2025, visitation will be held at 10:00am and Funeral Service at 11:00am at the New Life Christian Fellowship, Highway 929, Prairieville, La.
