Obituary

Eric James Chatman, affectionately known as "E" "Big E", was born on October 28, 1978 in Baton Rouge, LA to the parentage of Brenda Morris Chatman Lamb and Isaiah Chatman Sr. On Saturday June 15, 2019, Eric answered the call of his savior Jesus Christ to enter into eternal rest.

Eric was baptized at the age 13 at the Greater King David Church by the Rev. John E. Montgomery II. On February 24, 2019, Eric rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized at Life Tabernacle Church by the Rev Tony Spell.

Eric attended Forest Heights Elementary School, Glen Oaks Middle School, and finished his studies at Glen Oaks High School where he loved and played football. He was also a part of the Brec Little League Teams. He later became interested in working on cars as a teenager and later became a self employed and taught automobile mechanic. He was well known and loved by all of his peers, neighbors, and customers. Eric also put forth his many talents in working part time in landscaping with his neighbor, Mr. Charles. He was previously employed for several year s at Wal-Mart in Port Allen, LA.

Eric leaves to cherish his precious memories, his parents; Isaiah Chatman Sr. and Brenda Morris Lamb (Luther), 4 sons;  Kentroy Demond, Kyre Deonta, Trayvon James, and Joshua Demond Chatman, 5 daughters; Erica Brenda Rose, Savannah Louise, Myiah Ann,  Joy Michell, and Erin Renee Chatman, 4 brothers; Isaiah Jr, Isaac Elliot, Jeffery Bernard, and Christopher Louis Chatman, 1 sister Myesia Minor, 3 aunts; Min. Theresa Robinson, Luella Washington,  and Elder Annie Simmons(Charles), 1 uncle Min. John Chapman Sr.(Bertha), god-mother Nancy Williams, close friend and neighbor, Mr. Charles Grobert(Glenda) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, 1 aunt, and 1 uncle.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
