Ethel Raven Pinell, of Gonzales, La., was born to the union of the late Howard and Maude Raven on July 13, 1932. She departed this life on December 30, 2017 at 9:25 a.m. atThe Carpenter's House in Baton Rouge La. She was retired from Ascension Parish School Board with over 25 years of service.

She is survived by her best friend and beloved husband of 67 years of marriage, Severia Pinell, Sr. Surviving relatives are her two daughters, Carolyn Pinell Shelvin and Cherlynn Pinell Turner (Alvin Turner, Jr.), and two sons, Severia Pinell, Jr. (Gloria Pinell) and Seth Pinell, Sr. (Paula Pinell). Her two sisters,Ella Raven Williams and Elmire Raven, and one brother, Hugh Raven (Lanny Thomas), are also survivors along with 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Maude Raven, brothers, Henry Raven, Howard Raven, Harold Raven, Horace Raven, grandson,Thaddaeus Pinell, son-in- law, Willie Shelvin, and brother-in-law, Richard R. Williams.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
