Gary Eugene Snyder, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2023, due to heart failure.  He was born on October 13, 1936, to Arthur William Snyder and Doris Adelaide (Woerner) Snyder in Adrian, Michigan.  He lived and attended school in Adrian, graduating from Adrian High School in 1953.  He attended Michigan State University as an agricultural student, earning an associate degree. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War.  He married his wife of 56 years, Linda (Huff) Snyder, on December 3, 1966.  Gary was a salesman by trade.  He sold many things - cars, insurance, security systems, and antiques to name a few.  Gary began a personal relationship with God in 1979 and was a dedicated Christian until the moment of his death.  He was known as the "Million Dollar Man" to people in the community because of his habit of handing out gospel tracts that look like million dollar bills.   He was an enthusiastic member of Gonzales Baptist Temple for the past 30 years, serving as an usher and a member of the JOY group (Just Older Youth).  His heart was touched by the teaching of God's Word and above all he loved to hear his children sing in church.  His great desire can be summed up in the Bible verse, 3 John 1:4 - "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Gary is survived by his wife, Linda, his brother Art Snyder, jr., his sister and her husband Mary and Don Van Doren, and his brother and his wife Warner (Sonny) and Bonnie Snyder; his six children and their spouses David and Judy Snyder, Donna and John Major, Jennifer and Charles Ross, Rachel and Andrew Harris, Rebekah and Travis Rodriguez, and Andrew Snyder; and 62 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews who were all well-loved and important to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Snyder, two sister-in-laws Marilyn Snyder and Rosalee Snyder, two sons, Edward Snyder and David Snyder, and a daughter Lisa Zerby.

A memorial service will be held for Gary at Gonzales Baptist Temple, 2807 South Hodgeson Avenue, Gonzales, Louisiana, on Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 in the morning.  A dinner to celebrate his life will be held at the VFW at 42430 Churchpoint Road, Gonzales, Louisiana, after the service.  All friends and family are invited to attend.  Family and friends are also encouraged to attend church at Gonzales Baptist Temple the next morning at the 10:45 service in honor of Gary.
