She was a native of Sunshine, Louisiana. She was a 1959 graduate of Sunshine High School. A resident of Jefferson Manor in Baton Rouge for the last 8 years, she died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2012 at the Carpenter House. She was 72, a former employee of the Louisiana State University Physical Plant with 23 years of service. She was affiliated with Little Rock Baptist Church under the pastorage of Pastor Stephen Beckham. Visiting at First Mount Carmel B.C. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. conducted by Pastor Stephen Beckham. Interment in the church cemetery. Survivors include her daughters, Ingrid (Richard) Thomas and Latonya Crenshaw-Emerson of Baton Rouge; son, Carey Wiley Crenshaw III of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Annie Wilson-Booker of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren, Averiel, Ashley, Taloria, Christian, Ashante, Alyssa, J'Ordyne, Carey, Madison and Maxem Castle; 1 great-grandson, Lyric; and devoted friends and family, Helen V. Ambeau, Connie W. White, Ollie J. Smith, Betty W. Daniels, DeAudrey W. Redditt, and Ora L. Toney "a mother." Preceded in death by her husband, Carey W. Crenshaw; parents, Louis and Leona (Johnson) Wilson; sister, Ethel Miller; brothers, Louis, Jr. and James Wilson. Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
