James Lewis, 65, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 24, 2019 at Legacy Nursing Home in Plaquemine, Louisiana surrounded by his loving family.

James leaves to cherish his precious life memories, his daughter Carissa Stokes, step-mother Theresa Lewis, siblings and step-siblings; Lizzie and Charles Lewis (Nina), Calvin Smith, Reiner Nelson, Madison Stewart Jr, Julius Stewart, and Joyce Stewart-Chappell, Jacqueline Thomas, Vernon and Rhoda Joseph, Nieces and Nephews; Elston, Ericka, and Tara Lewis, Diondra White, Cartileya' Stewart, Tyandra Lewis, Kwain, Darris, Tonya, and William Stewart, and a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Lewis and Elizabeth Marcell-Stewart.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
