Janette "Monkie" Bennett Mero, a resident and native of Gonzales, Louisiana, died August 12, 2014, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was 62 years of age. Janette was born to the parentage of Albert and Cecile Nash Bennett. She leaves to cherish her memories 1 brother, Brent (Pamela) Nash, Gonzales; 9 aunts, 1 uncle, a devoted friend and ex-husband, Michael Mero and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. A funeral will be held at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, 511 W. Tobey Ave., Gonzales, La. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at 11:00 am. Visitation 9:00 am to service time. Burial in St. Paul B.C. Cemetery in Gonzales.
