A retired Ascension Parish School Board Custodian, passed away on Saturday July 21, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Gonzales, LA. He was 64 years old. He was united in holy matrimony to Lois Patterson on June 15, 1974. The union was blessed with 3 children.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children. A daughter Melony Patterson-Jackson, Baton Rouge, LA; a son Joseph B. (Audrey) Patterson, Dallas, TX; two grandchildren Hailey and Jordan Patterson, Dallas, TX; three sisters Barbara James, Baton Rouge, LA, Doris (Alfred) Patterson, Prairieville, LA, and Linda McKay, Baton Rouge, LA; one brother Rev. Roosevelt Patterson, Baton Rouge, LA; Godmother Mrs. Julia Stewart, Prairieville, LA; two Goddaughters Lois Williams and Aurby Stewart. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Andrew Sr and Wilma Patterson; brother Andrew Patterson Jr;  son Baby Boy Patterson; three sisters, Mary Anderson Carey, Thelma Patterson, Evelyn Hamilton; two nieces Kristen Hamilton, Kendra Bazile and nephew Fredrick Patterson.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
