Jules Edward Hollins Sr. was born on July 22, 1941, in St. Gabriel, Louisiana, and lived a long, hearty life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He lived to the age of 83, passing away peacefully on August 28, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bernice G. Hollins. Together they created a warm and welcoming home and reared eight children who also cherish memories of him: Gloria (Willie), Jule Jr. (Martina), Edward Sr. (Deshondra), Antoinette, Kenric (Danielle), Kentrell (Cortaey), Ariana, and Latanya; 25 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his siblings Melvin Hollins, James Atkins, Sr., and Gloria Wilson; two brothers-in-law, Wilton and Robert Gregoire; and a sister-in-law, Leona Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, Jules L. Hollins; his mother, Louella S. Hollins-Atkins; his sisters Leotha, Arthur Marie, Johnie Lee, Pinky, Helen, Dorothy, Ceola, and Alma; his brothers Freddie, Ulysses, and Larry; two sisters-in-law, Virginia and Anna; and one grandchild, Bijule.

The Services for Jules Edward Hollins, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Lawson & Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, located at 511 W. Tobey Avenue, Gonzales, LA 70737.  The viewing will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, followed by the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
