A retired longshoreman and a resident of Darrow, he died at 4:18 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 70 and a native of Burnside. Religious service at The Christian Assembly on Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. Viewing begins at 9 a.m. Survived by his wife, Brendalen T. Scott; daughters, Tonda, Tenoki, Tyariana Scott, and BA "Polly" Peters; sons, Torey Scott and Dave McLaughlin; sisters, Shirley M. Peters, Ular Mae Scott, Brenda Ann Scott, and Barbara Ann Scott; brothers, Herbert Scott Sr., Norman Scott and Raymond Scott; and grandkids, Tayla and Trenton Palmer, Torey Chance Scott, and Tatum Thomas. Preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Elouise Scott; grandson, Taban Green; in-laws, Earline Turner Rose and Walter Hill; three brothers, Sherman, Melvin, and Willie Scott; and a sister, Luberda Hawkins. He loved cooking and listening to the radio.
