Kenneth Andre Martin was born to the union of Madella Martin and Reginald Johnson in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 9, 1962. At an early age, he became a member of the Greater Beach Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1995 he became a member of Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Leo D. Cyrus. Kenneth was a devoted husband of 29 years to Monica Wetherspoon. After becoming a member of Second Baptist Church, he joined the Usher Ministry and faithfully served until his health started declining. Kenneth was also employed as a custodian of the church for a number of years and assisted with the distributions at the SBC Food Bank. He enjoyed watching football and was a Die-Hard Saints Fan.

Kenneth Andre Martin was 1980 graduate of Capitol High in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he was a member of the Lions Track Team. He was employed with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System (Tara High School) as a Porter Technician for over 30 years. He transferred to the Zachary School System working as a maintenance technician for 11 years and moved to his final career destination in the private school system at St. Joseph's Academy. At St. Joseph's, he worked as an all around school technician. He retired from St. Joseph's Academy due to his declining health.

He was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, godfather and family member. He leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted a loving wife, Monica Wetherspoon Martin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three sisters, Vicki Porter, Patricia Lendo and Renee Lendo Jones (Bennie Jones, III), all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; five brothers, Ralph Chenier, Edward Chenier, Michael Chenier (Libby), Bobby Chenier and Roy Chenier (Lena) all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one goddaughter, Kailey D. Garrett of Fort Worth, Texas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents and a stepfather, Albert Lendo who reared him.
