Obituary

Leona "Shorty" Hall Roberson was a resident of Prairieville and a native of Gonzales. She was born on Dec. 11, 1932 to the parentage of the late Edward and Irene Raven Hall, Sr. She was a retired employee of Dutch Cleaners and personal attendant/caregiver for the late M.P. and Ruth Evans. She departed this life on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Visitation will be on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New St. John Fellowship, 1615 N. Tobey Avenue, Gonzales, LA. Visitation will continue on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Religious services will follow at 11:00 AM conducted by Pastor Clarence Stephens. Leona leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 61 years, Curtis Roberson, (1) daughter, Diane Coco, (1) sister, Julia (Ernest) Stephens, (2) nieces whom she reared, Peggy Stephens and Troy (Malvin) Lee, (4) granddaughters, LaShonda and Terri Coco, Tamra and Brianne Lee, (2) grandsons, Jermaine Stephens and Trey Lee, (1) great- grandson , Jared Mitchell, (2) great-granddaugthers, Samira and Teana Stephens, (2) Godsons, James Roberson and Michael West, (4) sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Rosa Nell Hall of Gonzales, Thelma Hall of Head of Island, and Lottie Roberson Mumford of Prairieville. Her extended family included Cindy Stevens, Terry (Edla) Hodgeson, Joshua (Ecenthia) Burnett, and Donald (Kathleen) Carmouche, Bernie (Mary) Thomas, Milton (Dorothy) Vicknair, and Raul Molina, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Irene Raven Hall, Sr., two sisters, Rachel West and Irma McAllister, six brothers, Emanuel, Samuel, Edward, Jr., Herman, Sr., Wilma and Severia Hall.
