Leslie Marie Smith , affectionately known to family as Keedie , entered into eternal rest on August 7 th 2019 .  She was born in New Orleans , Louisiana on August 13 th , 1974 to the late Mary Eli za Smith Baggett. She was raised in New Orleans where she lived until relocating to Baton Rouge after Hurricane Katrina. She was a graduate of Nicholls High School.  Leslie loved to laugh and talk with family and friends , posted daily inspirational messages on her social media page to inspire others, and was a devoted New Orleans Saints fan .

She is preceded in death by her mother & best friend , Mary El iza Smith Baggett, step- daughter Curtishia Henry, grandparents Octave and Ann i e Smith , and aunt Ora Lee Johnson .

Leslie is survived by her brother Darion Smith (Tamara), dedicated partner in life (15 years) Curtis Lawrence, nephews Frank Moses and Darion Smith II , granddaughters Nekendra Shaundrelle Poythress and Zilya Aniya Poythress, god mother Barbara Rodney, godfather Benjamin ' Benny Boy ' Miller , goddaughter Al exi a Smith- London , great - niece Faith Moses and great - nephew Shymere Moses .  She is also survived by a hos t of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Leslie will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her .
