Lionel John Prestly a resident of Sorrento, La, peacefully departed this earthly life on Friday, November 3, 2017, at 8:30 PM at Gonzales Health Care Center in Gonzales, LA.  He was born on May 31, 1957, to Elvie Prestly and Paul Smith. He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator in Ascension Parish.

Lionel leaves to cherish his loving memories:  His loving wife Doris Prestly, five daughters: Shannon Thomas, Regina Thomas, Daneka Prestly, Chiqula Thomas and Kayla Henry (Patrick); ten grandchildren: three sisters: Beulah Franklin, Shirley Brown, and Suzanne Dunbar, two brothers:  Carl Prestly (Edna) and Paul Prestly, three aunts, one uncle, a father-in-law: Lawrence Duplush Sr.: and a host of family and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
