LORENA WEST BROWN
was born on October 20, 1926 in Prairieville, LA., to the union of Isaiah and Everlena Douglas West. On Saturday May 28, she began her journey home to our heavenly Father.
Lorena
worked in the cafeteria at Prairieville High School in the 1950's. She became the owner of the new West Grocery in 1961. She managed her store for 17 years and was affectionately called Mrs. Kate by the students and community.
She accepted Christ at an early age, being baptized at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, Prairieville, LA by the late Rev. Simon Barnes. She remained a faithful member of Mt. Gillion and was a member of the Pastor's Aide Association.

leaves to cherish her life and memory a daughter, Rose M. Brown and a son, Ernest Brown Jr. (Shaketha); sister-in-law, Ernestine West; godson, Dwight Johnson; god brother, Lee Jones; devoted nieces, Joyce Brooks Thompson and Celeste Alvarez; devoted nephews, Charles West Jr., Victor Dennis Jr., and Minister Juan Parker and a host of other relatives and friends.

was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Brown Sr.; grandson
Ernest Brown III; brothers Joseph, John, Charles, Millard West Sr.; sisters Margaret Dennis, Mable Davis, Alma Etienne and Marian Brooks; and goddaughter Betty Dennis.
