Mark Anthony Darby Sr., was born on August 7, 1962 in New Orleans, La to the late Joseph Darby Sr and Eva Taylor Darby. He was called to eternal rest on March 4, 2016 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, La.

Mark dedicated his life to Christ and was baptized at the age of 9 years old. He graduated from East Ascension High School in 1983 and then went on to Southeastern to further his education in music. Mark was very well known in the Ascension and surrounding areas for his gifted and anointed voice.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his wife Crystal Darby (5) children; Catherine, Marcus, and Mark Jr of Sorrento, La Thessalonica and Tajahia of Gonzales, La. (5) grandchildren; Tailyn, Tayla, and Takhi Jones of Sorrento, La and Talaysia and Tevon Jackson Jr of Gonzales, La. (1) Brother; Joseph Darby Jr.(Pearl). (4) sisters; Ellen Ann Sanders Jacqueline Darby-Tolbert, Bernadette, and Alexis Darby. (2) uncles; Edward Darby and Pete Britton (Euralee). (2) god-sisters Alicia Bureau and Audrey Jacobs. (1) Godchild; Iris Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eva Darby Sr, Paternal Grandparents; Nathan Darby and Fellice Kemp. Maternal Grandparents; Frizel and Lelia Gales. First wife Consuelo Bureau. (3) sisters; Shirley Cotton, Leola Emery, and Linda Faye Skinner. (2) Brother-in-laws; Gordon Sanders Sr and Coda Tolbert Sr. (1) nephew; Edmond Burkhalter Sr.
