Melvin Nash Sr., a native of Gonzales, LA, was born on June 14, 1934 to the late Rev. Henry Nash and Francis Smith. Melvin accepted Christ at an early age. He departed this life on April 15, 2021 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA surrounded by his loving family .

Melvin leaves to cherish his memories; 2 daughters, Cheryl (Johnny) Day of Darrow, LA, Dana C. Johnson of Cape Coral, FL, 1 son Michaels Nash og Gonzales, LA, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 5 loving sisters; Dora Williams, Ida Leblanc, Lubertha(Rudolph) Dempsey, Sylvia Nash all of Gonzales, LA, and Diane (Harvey) Munday of Inglewood, CA. 4 devoted nieces; Verla Bush, Laquincia Glover, Trinecah Glover, and Lakeshia Brown. A devoted cousin, Dorothy Martin, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Melvin is preceded in death by his wife Elnora Bush Nash, son Melvin Nash Jr., daughter Michelle Nash, brothers; Herman, James, and Roosevelt Nash, sisters; Cecile Bennet, Leona Annis, Yvonne Nash, Connie Bringer, Estelle Landry, Gloria Coleman, Louise Stinson, Claudine Williams, and Aldonia Nash Jackson

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
