Modester "Modie" Taylor Thomas, a native of Denver, Colorado, and St. Gabriel, La., a resident of Gonzales, La., passed away on May 26, 2015, at the age of 63. She leaves to cherish her loving memories her mother, Fannie Taylor; her children, Monique Thomas, Maliana Thomas, Mathew Thomas Jr. and Schalanda Thomas; her sisters, Juliana Smith and Annester Taylor Brown; her brothers, Sylvester Taylor III (Patricia) and George Taylor; her aunts, Inez James, Lottie Cowan and Gloria Thomas; 6 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Sylvester Taylor Jr.; a sister; Theresa Day and her grandparents, Rev. George and Ophelia Smith. Visitation will be held at First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 9:00 am until religious service time at 11:00 am. Burial in the church cemetery.
