NIRIS VALENCIA DUGUÉ STEIB, daughter of the late Albert M. Dugué, Sr., and Josephine Clark Dugué, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 12:14 a.m., surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 18, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Niris graduated from Xavier University Preparatory School in 1965. She obtained an associate's degree in Accounting from Delgado Community College. On June 13, 1981, she was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Kenneth Steib, Sr. She enjoyed watching sports, with her favorite team being the New Orleans Saints.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her beloved husband of 44 years, Kenneth Steib, Sr.; children, Kenneth J. Steib, Jr., (Andrea) and Jessica R. Steib; granddaughter, A'Laysia M. Steib; siblings, Gerard (Sheila) Dugué, Virgil (Brenda) Dugué, Wayne (Mary Joyce) Dugué, Wade (Ellen) Dugué, Edward Dugué, Elwood Dugué, and Libby Dugué; sisters-in-law; Sylvia (Woody) Turbinton, Debra (Barry) Favorite, and Sandra Dugué; brother-in-law, Rod (Renee) Steib; as well as her godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert M. Dugué, Sr., and Josephine Clark Dugué; daughters, Vanessa and Donna Flagge; brothers, Albert M. Dugué, Jr., and Kelvin Dugué; sister, Josie Dugué Lain; and brother-in-law, C. Arnold Lain.

Niris will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her
