Ola Mae Thompson was born on August 19, 1950 in New Orleans, LA to the Late George and Lottie Miller Thompson, Sr.  She was the second of nine children.  She departed this life on April 25, 2020.  God came quietly, stood by her side and took her home to sweet rest.

Ola was baptized at an early age by the Late Rev. Henderson Jackson at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Geismar, LA.  She served as a choir member for many years.  She served under the pastoral guidance of the Late Rev. Henderson Jackson, Late Rev. Richard Rayborn Sr., Late Rev. Albert Darville, Rev. Leo D. Cyrus and Rev. Irvin Briley, Jr.  One of her joys in life was using her talents as a gospel singer to bring comfort to people in spiritual need.  Some of her favorite songs were:  "Guide Me Over", "Thank You Lord", "I Am Glad To Be In The Service", "I Got A Feeling, A Good Ole Feeling" and "I Shall Wear A Crown".

Ola received all of her primary and secondary education at Kennedy Memorial High School in Geismar, LA.  She pursued her career as a key punch operator at LSU until her health failed.

She leaves cherished memories to her son Jarvis Mario (Conloudes-Kelly) Thompson of Houston, TX, granddaughter Jaylyn Leshia Thompson of Dallas, TX; daughter Sayetta Laveice Thompson of Baton Rouge, LA and grandson Javieon Jahonte Killough of Baton Rouge, LA.  Her memories will also be cherished by her faithful and loving siblings:  Three Sisters-Viola Thompson of Geismar, LA, Bobbie Ann Anderson of Baton Rouge, LA and Vivian Thompson Roberson of Gonzales, LA.  Three Brothers-Larry Thompson of Carville, LA, Allen (Lynda) Thompson of Natchez, MS and Perry Thompson Sr .of Geismar, LA.  One Aunt-Ida Mae Davis and Special Friends-Priscilla West, Mavis Johnson, Rochelle Bourgeois and Shelia Newson.   A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ola was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lottie Miller Thompson, Sr; one brother-George Thompson, Jr; one sister-Onita Thompson and God Parents-Albert and Irma Miller Morris.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to
them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
