Obituary

Oscar Jackson went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge Louisiana. He was born April 18, 1942, to the union of the late Loney and Virginia Jackson of Gonzales, LA. Oscar was a faithful God fearing man who stood on Philippians 4:13,"I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me" in spite of the many challenges that life presented.

​A Time of Peace... Oscar Jackson is survived by three daughters, Denise (Pete) Ealy, Dallas, Texas,  Marilyn (Kevin) Wilkinson, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Anuli (Chad) McFadden Baton Rouge, Louisiana; four sons, Jonathan (Anna) Jones, Gonzales, Louisiana,  Darrin Kenny (Jacquelyn) Lewis, Gonzales, Louisiana, Willie Bolden Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Darryl Robertson, Gonzales, Louisiana; one step-daughter, Lesia (Robert) Johnson Sr., Prairieville, Louisiana; One brother, Dennis (Katherine) Jackson; five sisters, Rose Mary Cook and Audrey Martin, Los Angeles, California, Odessa Darville, Lucille Fayall and Mercy Dee (Darell) Valentine, Gonzales, Louisiana;  six granddaughters, Jasmine Ealy, Nonia Darby, Keiadra Stephens, Chelsey Wilkinson, Chelsy Breaux and Tabitha Lodge; thirteen grandsons,  Kortny Ealy, Carter McFadden, Luther Nash, Johnathan Jones, Darrin Alonzo Lewis, Oscar Varnado, Darrin Kenny Lewis Jr., Brandin T. Lewis, Jordin R. Lewis, Johnny Jones  and Jacoby Darby; two step-grandchildren, Robert Johnson Jr. and Talisha Johnson; one godchild Kevin Jackson; two devoted friends, Irene Cushenberry, Henry Collins and host of  nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ethel Jackson, parents Loney and Virginia Jackson, grandparents Valson Sr. and Sarah Jackson, three nephews, Donald Ray Jackson, Tom Darville Jr. and Ervin Darville along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousin and friends.

Services will be at True Light Worship Center, 1012 W Orice Roth Rd, Gonzales Louisiana on Thursday, August 13, 2020; visitation will be 10:00am -11:00am. Services will follow at 11:00am with an imposed restricted number of attendees. All attendees must wear face mask and gloves.
