Obituary

Rev. Oscar "Jap" Murray Hardy, son of the late William Morris Hardy Sr. and Estelle Lomas Hardy. Oscar was born on August 25, 1946.

He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Taylor, professing his faith in Jesus Christ, and joined Shiloh Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member. At Shiloh Baptist Church he served on the deacon board until he was called into the ministry. He served faithfully as pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church from 1997 until 2006.

He worked for the Ascension Parish Government as Bridge Supervisor for 26 years.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Stacy Arnell Hardy Sr., Steven Betrand Hardy Sr. and Tayaun-Mambrae Hardy; two daughter-in-laws, Benita Hines Hardy of Gonzales, La. and Erica Fowler Hardy of Galvez, La.; eight grandchildren, six boys and two girls; brother William Morris Hardy Jr. of Baton Rouge, La.; two sisters May Mitchell and Gladys Jenkins; Three brother-in-laws: Roosevelt Mackyeon, Frank Joseph, Samuel J. Joseph; two sister-in-laws Millie Landry and Barbara Hardy; a host of nieces and nephews, five godchildren, friends and family.
