Rosemary James Favorite was born on March 15, 1930, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She moved to the Upper Room on July 7, 2026, at her home in Geismar, Louisiana, at age 96.

Rosemary was known for her love of plants, gospel music, and the color blue. For her children, grandchildren, and the children she babysat, she was famous for her peaceful presence and her homemade biscuits. She had the wisdom and foresight of an elder even from a young age. She was a lifelong member of First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Julian and Monroe James; her husband of 56 years, Amos Favorite, Sr., son, Carl V. Favorite, grandson, LaDarius Favorite; her brothers, Wilbert James, Eugene James, Felton James, and Eddie Gaines; Sisters: Virginia James and Carrie Bell Smith.

Rosemary is survived by sons Amos Favorite, Jr (Deloris) of Baton Rouge, Donald Lee Favorite (Audrey) of Geismar, daughters Barbara Malaika Favorite Kellman (Anthony) of Geismar, Patricia Yoruba Favorite of Palmdale, CA, Sharon Tamu Favorite of New York, NY, Lynette Favorite Salinas (Erasmo) of Saginaw, TX, Carolyn Favorite of Geismar, Mona Lisa Favorite-Hill (Felton dec) of Pinole, CA. Daughter-in-law, Donna Brown Favorite (Carl)

Grandchildren: Angeliea Favorite of Prairieville, Nikolette 'Yadi' Favorite of Lancaster, CA, Lauwana Favorite (Jonathan) of Prairieville, AJ Favorite (Asia) of Stockbridge, GA, Nikita Favorite of Baton Rouge, Donald Favorite Jr. of Geismar, Carrie Favorite of Baton Rouge, Luke Favorite of Baton Rouge, Jasmin Favorite of Saginaw, TX, Alexandra Hill of Mexico City, MX, Ashley Favorite Bethancourt (Grayling) of Prairieville, Todd Favorite Adams of Geismar, Isaiah Salinas of Saginaw, TX which earned her the name GG Rose.
