Ruth Jones Green, a native and resident of Belle Rose, Louisiana, passed away at 11:00 pm on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Prevost Memorial Hospital in Donaldsonville, La. She was 85. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 67 years, Rev. Joseph Green Sr.; 1 daughter, LaVerne Green DeBose (Jeffrey Sr.); 5 sons, Joseph Jr., Paul, Bruce, Lionel and Udell Green; 1 sister, Loubertha Breaux; 1 brother, Clarence Jones; 32 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Louise Jones; 3 sons; 2 daughters; 8 sisters; 6 brothers; 3 grand children and 8 great-great grand children. A funeral will be held Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Virginia Baptist Church, 145 Virginia Street, Belle Rose, LA 70341, conducted by Rev. Lloyd Jones, Pastor. Visitation will be 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am. Burial in the church cemetery.
