Obituary

Severia Pinell, Sr., 89 of Gonzales, Louisiana was born to the union of the late Arthur and Ama Valentine, Sr. on November 16, 1931.  He departed this life on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 8:17 p.m. at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Severia retired from Ormet as an operator for over 33 years.  After retiring he worked as a school crossing guard for over 25 years with the Gonzales Police Department.

He is survived by his loving children Carolyn Pinell Shelvin, Severia Pinell, Jr. (Gloria), Seth K. Pinell, Sr. (Paula), Cherlynn Pinell Turner (Alvin), five sisters-in-law, Ella Williams of Humble, TX, Elmire Raven of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Bonnie Raven of Gonzales, LA, Barbara Pinell of Berkeley, CA and Lanny Thomas of Gramacy, LA. He was also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great- great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethel R. Pinell, parents Arthur and Ama Valentine; three sisters, Sammie Washington, Georgia Earl and Leola Williams; two brothers Roy Pinell and Arthur Valentine, Jr.; grandson, Thaddaeus Pinell; son-in-law, Willie Shelvin; nine brothers-in-law and one sister-in law.
