Sheldon "Manboy" Christy Sr., a loving husband, father, son and brother, entered into eternal rest at Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday, December 28, 2014. Sheldon was 51 years old and a native of Prairieville, Louisiana. Visitation will take place at First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Geismar, La. on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 9:00am until the religious service at 11:00am, conducted by Rev. Irvin Briley; interment at Mt. Gillion BC Cemetery. Sheldon shared his wonderful life with his family: his wife, Elvie Christy; parents, Shelly and Shirley Christy; children, Victor Phillips, Kaley, Sheldon Jr., Shelby and Taylor Christy; his brother, Timothy (Kim) Christy, and 3 sisters, Gloria Kelly-Burns, Charlotte (Ronald) Turner and Jennifer Christy-Moses; goddaughters, Ebony York, Nellisia and Gerlayah Parker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As we mourn Sheldon's homegoing, he is celebrating in heaven with his grandfathers, Leo Christy and Robert Sullivan, grandmother, Everlina Bedney, great-grandmother, Alma Williams, and sister, Jacklyn Christy.
