Shirley Temple Darville Harris was born January 19, 1935 to the late Leon and Josephine Darville. Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ called her home on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the age of 79. She was a life long resident of Prairieville, LA and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, Prairieville, LA. She enjoyed working in her yard as an avid gardener, fishing, and visiting with her many family members and friends. She is survived by her five children, Joyce Anne Haynes (Don) of Cedar Hill, TX; Joan Marie Stephen (Alvin), of Gonzales, LA; Nettie L. Minor (Gregory) of Lafayette, LA; Joseph Harris, Jr. (Lisa), of Walker, LA; and Leslie Ameko Harris (Frank Brown) of Humble, TX. She is also survived by her sister Mary Alice Hulbert, brother Tom Darville, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her spouse Joseph 'Tutt' Harris, Sr. Visitation will be at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA on Friday May 9, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Also there will be a visitation on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, 38280 Henry Road, Prairieville, LA.
