Tanya Henry Harris was born on February 28, 1973 to the union of Henry Williams and Shirley Henry of Galvez, LA.
She was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church on March 9, 1979 by the late Rev. T.T. Robertson. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined Christian Assembly as a young adult, under the leadership of the late Rev. Richard Rayborn, Sr. then later moved her fellowship to Mt. Gillion Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. John Marcell until his death and now currently under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Jermaine Brumfield, Pastor. She worked as a CNA Supervisor for years until she fell ill and had to retire.
She was joined in holy matrimony to Edwin (Peanut) Harris for twenty years and to this union one son, Edwin Will Harris Scott, was born. She has one goddaughter, DeAnn Thomas, who was like a daughter to her. She was a loving and caring wife, an excellent Mother and a cool Auntie who would keep up with the latest fashions and gadgets. She loved her family dearly and she had a big heart.
She treated her friends like family; especially, her best friend, Takisha Curry, and many others like Uncle Jimmie, Jr., Antoinetta, Bridget, Cynthia, George, Alec, Reg & Bam. You all held a very special place in her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her one & only Husband, Edwin Harris and son, Edwin Will Harris Scott, Prairieville, LA. Her mother, Shirley Henry, Prairieville, LA. Her father, Henry (Hank) Williams, Baton Rouge, LA. One sister, Brenda (Wayne, Sr.) Douglas and One brother, Anthony Williams (Wendy David) all of Galvez, LA. Father and Mother in law, Christopher and Cora Spriggs, Prairieville, LA. One Brother-in-law, Randolph Harris, Prairieville, LA. One Sister-in-law, Cora Liz (Curtis)Williams, Houston, TX. Five Aunts, Minister Dorothy Mayer, Prairieville, LA, Oney Byrd, Josephine (John) Talbert, Galvez, LA, Iona Harrison, Clinton, LA, Mary Lee White, Hammond, LA. One Godmother, Gloria Hardy, Galvez, LA. One Great Aunt, Mattie Lee Robertson, Baton Rouge, LA. Five Uncles, Walter Williams and Gary Williams, Galvez, LA; Eddie (Marie) Henry and James Henry, Prairieville, LA, Jimmy, Jr. (Willanina) Henry, Baton Rouge, LA. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Will and Beatrice Henry; paternal grandparents, Hillery & Georgia Williams; God-father, Rev. Oscar Hardy; Grandmother-in-law, Elizabeth Armstrong; Father-in-law, Will Harris. An Uncle, Curtis Williams; a Cousin, Jerry Lee Williams.
