Thelma Parms Prout, age 82, native of Prairieville, Louisiana and a resident of Gonzales, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Gonzales Health Care Center. She resided in New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina brought her home. Visitation will be held at True Light Worship Center, 1012 West Orice Roth Road, Louisiana, on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Service will begin at 11:00 AM and will be officiated by Reverend A. Claiborne. Burial will follow at Prairieville Community Center, located at 37473 Highway 929, Prairieville, Louisiana. Thelma Parms Prout is survived by three siblings, Andrew, Sam, and Mary Parms, all of Prairieville, Louisiana; a god-daughter, Gwendolyn Mitchell, of Washington, D. C.; a long time sister-friend, Victoria Rainey, of New Orleans, La; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Thompson; her husband, Ferdinand Prout; her father and mother, Lloyd and Ethel Parms: five brothers, Lloyd, Jr., Alvin, Timothy, Alton, and Curtis Parms: three sisters, Josephine Thompson, Ethel Mae Briley, and Betty Ann Davis.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love shown to them during their moment of bereavement. No act of kindness has gone unnoticed, and a more formal thank you will be done at a later date.
