Tracey Marie
Samuels
Mar 1, 1966 — Jul 23, 2025
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Psalm 34:18
Tracey Marie Samuels passed away peacefully on July 23rd at the age of 59. She was surrounded by her loving children at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales, LA.
Born on March 1, 1966 in New Orleans, La. Tracey was the daughter of Charles Samuels and Betty Samuels. She grew up in St. James, La and later in life relocated to Donaldsonville, LA, and then Gonzales, LA.
Throughout her life, Tracey was known for her strength, generosity, and devotion to her family. Tracey's home was always open, her hands always helping, and her presence brought warmth and grace to everyone she met. No matter what others were going through, she made them feel seen, supported, and loved. Tracey endured many hardships throughout her life, but she remained grounded in love and faith.
Tracey found joy in the simple things in life, like dancing and swinging out to some good ole soul music, watching her many shows after work, and writing, expressing to her loved ones how much they meant to her in the form of letters and poems. But nothing brought Tracey more joy than spending time with her family.
Tracey leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Smith Sr.; two daughters, Kylee Allen and Marquish Favorite; three sons, Troy Samuels, Davin Allen (Heather), and Michael Favorite Jr. (Xiara); seven grandchildren; Symphany Samuels, Sierra Samuels, Kaiden Osbourne, Bryce Allen, Gavan Allen, Mychal Allen, and Saint Samuels; her mother, Betty Samuels; two sisters, Stacey Cole (Stacy) and Lisa Samuels; a niece, Camille Cole; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will remember her with love and admiration.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Samuels; her son, Jared Allen; her grandmother, Lillian Williams; and her soulmate, Michael Favorite Sr.
