Walter Hankton Sr. age 76, a native of Covent, LA and resident to Gonzales, LA passed away June 5, 2020 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital; Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2020 from 1:00-3:00pm at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, 511 W. Tobey Ave., Gonzales, LA. Repass will follow at Darrow Community Center 37112 Martin Luther King St, Darrow, LA.

Survived by Wife; Linda, 5 Sons; Michael (Diane), Jeffery, Everette (Nytonjia), Jerome, Demario (Stephanie), 2 Stepsons; Shane Lambert, Jason Lambert, 4 Daughters; Jacqueline (Kevin) Dempsey, Cherlene Hankton, Jeannie (Marcus) Holiday, Rachel Hankton, 22 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 Sister; Edna Mae (Carl) Prestly and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his Mother; Garlena Hankton, First Wife; Marion Figgins Hankton, 2 Sons; Walter Jr and Jonathan, 1 Daughter-in-law; Sheletha Hankton, 1 Sister; Mable Marshall, 1 Brother in Law; Augusta Marshall, 1 Nephew; Lester Marshall and 1 Great Nephew; Isaac Prestly.
