Wayne Ursin, a native of Convent, La. and a resident of Gonzales, La departed this life on August 23, 2014 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge, La. at the age of 56. He was a retired employee of the Pontchartrain Levee District. Visitation will be at Purple Shield Funeral Home in Gonzales on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. and again Saturday, August 30th from 10:00 am at Hopeful Triumph Baptist Church, Hillaryville, La. until religious services at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Sydney Tobias Jr. His burial will follow in Hopeful Triumph B.C. Cemetery in Hillaryville. Wayne leaves to cherish precious memories his wife of 25 years, Wanda Milan Ursin of Gonzales; 3 children, Shaway'ne Ursin of Gonzales and her fiancee' Donald Preston of Baton Rouge, Shamieko Milan of Gonzales and Veranique Payton and her husband Felton Jr. of Gonzales; 5 grandchildren: Josten, Keshaun, Jania, Austin and Madysin, all of Gonzales; 3 sisters: Jacqueline and Michael Northern, Ann and Mack Bush Sr., and Stacy and Ronald Carter; 2 brothers, Robert Ursin Sr. and Charles Jr. and Wanda Ursin; 3 sisters-in law: Shirley and Beverly Milan, Rose and Eddie Williams; 2 brothers-in law: Alphonse Milan and John Jr. and Ester Milan; 7 god-children; 2 aunts and uncles:Rosetta and Albert Singleton and Mary and Aaron Tyler; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Margaret Ester Ursin; 2 sisters, Joann Breaux and Jean Smith; his father and mother-law, John Sr. and Isabel Milan; 1 brother-in-law, Alvin Milan Sr. and 2 sisters-in law, Pam Milan and Sharlen Milan.
